giving

Our community has given so much to us, and we love to give back as much as possible!

grounds for giving

4 times a year we hold Grounds For Giving events to support a particular local non-profit. The non-profit receives 10% of our sales for that day, as well as promotion on our social media to highlight the good work they do. Our first Grounds for Giving recipient in 2024 will be LEAD Girls, a wonderful organization dedicated to helping low-income/at-risk preteen girls become productive citizens and active leaders in their communities. LEAD Girls will receive 10% of sales from all 3 of our locations for 2/20/24.

In 2023 our GFG recipients were Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Forsyth Humane Society and the Positive Wellness Alliance.

Other Grounds for Giving events for 2024 are being scheduled now and will be announced soon. If you work with a local non-profit and would like to be considered for a Grounds for Giving event in the future, email us and let us know what’s special about your non-profit!

arts & innovation grants

Twice a year we award an Arts & Innovation Grant of $500 to an artist or an innovator for enriching our community.

Our 2023 Artist Grant recipient is Shade White, for his project documenting the history of racial redlining in Winston-Salem.

Our 2023 Innovation Grant recipient is Jupi Trotter, a teacher at Gibson Elementary School, who will use the funds to buy a drone kit to build with the older students there.

Congratulations to both of these worthy grant recipients!

hope du jour

We participate every year in Hope du Jour, an annual fundraiser for Crisis Control. This year we donated 10% of sales from all our locations for the day of May 2nd to support the wonderful emergency assistance Crisis Control gives to members of our community in times of need.

giving throughout the year

Throughout the year we donate to many worthy organizations. We donate all of our leftover pastries & bread every day to Sunnyside Ministry.

Because of the volume of requests we receive, we limit our donations to non-profits that work in the arenas of social justice, poverty, the arts, women’s rights, and LGBTQ rights. We typically do not donate to bake sales. To request a donation, please email us at donations@caminobakery.com and be sure to include details such as when you need your donation, how many items you need, and information about your organization.
