We are family owned.

We are community driven,

and committed to thoughtful downtown WSNC development.

We make all our food by hand, every day.

In 2008, as an untrained but passionate baker, Cary Clifford started Camino Bakery by making treats for the crowds at Krankies Coffee. The business quickly grew, and in 2011 we opened a bakery, café & winebar on 4th Street.

Our bakery is named after an ancient pilgrimage route which comes from all over Europe to converge in the Pyrenees Mountains at the border of Spain and France. From there pilgrims travel west across Spain to Santiago de Compostela, where legend has it that St. James’ remains were buried. To learn more about the pilgrimage, check out this website.

The Camino de Santiago remains our bakery’s inspiration as a different way of life: a life that includes time spent with friends, enjoying beautiful food & drink. We hope you like eating our treats as much as we like making them!
